Victim Spots Stolen Bicycle

Commit Crime? - Not in the Santa Clarita Valley - Deputies arrested a Newhall man on a theft related charge Saturday afternoon after an alert resident spotted his own stolen bicycle. The victim reportedly had his bicycle stolen on Friday after he left it unlocked in a bicycle rack at the mall. On Saturday, the victim was on Lyons Avenue near Orchard Village Road when he spotted a man riding his bicycle. The victim's father drove to the location and detained the suspect until deputies arrived.
Deputies recovered the bicycle and arrested Ivan Garcia, MH/20, of Newhall on a felony charge of Receiving Stolen Property. The suspect also had three outstanding warrants for Trespassing, Driving Without a License and Theft. He was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station and is being held in lieu of $91,740 bail pending future court proceedings.
