Three Arrested in Stolen Car

Commit Crime? - Not in the Santa Clarita Valley - Deputies assigned to the City of Santa Clarita - Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Community Interaction Team (CIT) arrested three suspects in a stolen car Friday night after conducting a traffic stop on Sierra Highway near Placerita Canyon Road.
The car was reported stolen from a garage in Stevenson Ranch on April 24, 2008. Inside the car deputies reportedly found drug paraphernalia, identification documents belonging to other individuals, a replica firearm (pellet gun), and other property that was apparently stolen during other incidents of burglary and theft in Valencia. The deputies also reported that the driver and one of the passengers were allegedly under the influence of a controlled substance.
All three suspects were booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station. The driver, Christopher Morejon, MH/20, of Canyon Country, faces potential felony charges of Grand Theft Auto and Receiving Stolen Property. He also faces potential misdemeanor charges of being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance, and Driving Under the Influence of Methamphetamine. He was also on felony parole and is being held without bail. The front passenger, Jaspreet Bassi, MO/29 of Newhall, faces potential felony charges of Taking a Vehicle Without the Owner's Consent and Receiving Stolen Property. He could also face misdemeanor charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Personal Identifying Information, and Petty Theft. He is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail. The rear passenger, Jacquelyn Hiner, FW/21, of Castaic, faces potential felony charges of Taking a Vehicle Without the Owner's Consent and Receiving Stolen Property. She also faces a potential misdemeanor charge of being Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance. She is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
