SCV Sheriffs & Fire Host Community Safety Program

Working together we can make a difference.  Get prepared before an emergency or disaster occurs -  Community Relations personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department - Santa Clarita Valley Station and the Los Angeles County Fire Department will join together next week to host two Community Safety Programs for residents in the Santa Clarita Valley.

The first community program will be held in the City of Santa Clarita on Monday, May 12, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the College of the Canyons in the Aliso Hall - Room 101- 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Santa Clarita

The second community program will be held in Castaic, Unincorporated Los Angeles County, on Thursday, May 15, 2008, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Castaic Elementary School - 30455 Park Vista Drive, Castaic.

Emergency services personnel from both agencies will be on hand to talk about brush clearance, evacuation procedures, using the Sheriff and Fire Department Web sites, and much more.

These events will offer a unique opportunity for residents to get involved with the safety and protection of their neighborhoods, learn how to best care for their family and property in the event of an emergency, ask questions and raise concerns, and talk about how we can all work together to keep the Santa Clarita Valley one of the best places in the nation to live, work, and play.

It is always important to be aware of how to keep your family and neighborhood safe!  As we enter into the fire season, it is crucial that valuable public safety related information is disseminated to our community members before an emergency occurs.

Information about the Community Emergency Response Training (C.E.R.T.) program, which is another way residents can take their involvement to the next level, will also be available.  We hope to see you there!
