Commit Crime? - Not in the Santa Clarita Valley - Deputies arrested a Sylmar man on burglary charges early Wednesday morning. Deputies patrolling a Newhall neighborhood, near 6th Street and Pine Street, in the early morning hours spotted a man walking between cars and looking into car windows. As they approached, the man threw a screwdriver.
The deputies detained him and conducted further investigation. The deputies report that they recovered a car stereo, amplifiers, speaker boxes, and other items in the grass, near the sidewalk where the suspect was standing. The suspect reportedly led the deputies to two vehicles parked in a nearby parking garage. The deputies found both vehicles had been broken into and the items they had recovered were apparently stolen from those vehicles.
The suspect, Angel Brianos, MH/25, of Sylmar, was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station on a felony Burglary charge and a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Burglary Tools. He is being held in lieu of $20,000 bail pending future court proceedings.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information at this time. -ref 08076
